Is The Window Of Democracy Closed In Egypt?

Looking at the current state of affairs in Egypt, I wonder if the ship of democracy and freedom has sailed there. I mean there was a very strong sense at the beginning that Egyptians would finally see some relief from tyranny, a US backed tyranny as well, for once. But as the protests have worn on and on, it's taxing on the protesters, who probably need to get back to their homes and lives and jobs will eventually have to give up.

We could have done, well Obama could have done, SO much to try to help the cause of freedom and democracy there, but it was a shamefully wasted opportunity. Any other president would have probably leaped into the verbal fray and defended the causes of freedom and liberty and actually helped the Egyptian people realize their freedom. But alas, I don't think it will happen, not with Obama at the helm.
